Sets out mandatory requirements to which all condition-based residential survey services must confirm to and best practice outlining how the mandatory requirements should be met. Originally planned to be in force from 1 June 2020 but was put back due to the pandemic to a transition period of 1 March 2021 to 31 August 2021. Notes that some elements of the professional statement do not apply to the Home Report in Scotland but will apply to all other condition-based residential services offered by RICS professionals and regulated firms in Scotland.

There was a transition period for the new RICS home survey reports which ran from 1 March until 31 August 2021. Between these dates, both the old and new formats of the reports were acceptable. However, from 1 September 2021 the new home survey reports had to be used.
