Examines the application of the CDM regulations in the context of small building works, revealing that the legislation has left ambiguities which can allow health and safety responsibilities to be downplayed or ignored. Calls for the requirements of the regulations to be made clear in standard forms of contract in order to ensure that all parties have a clear understanding of their duties and responsibilities.
