Building floating houses on flood plains

<br/><br/> Describes a new innovation in house building which enables houses to be built on flood plains with no risk of flooding. Houses are built on a floating raft consisting of polystyrene and concrete. The entire raft is capable of floating in the event of water levels. Structural and safety requirements are outlined. Building methods, and concomitant changes to Building Regulations, are discussed. Fire safety is also considered.
