N2  - Explains that new statutory duties regarding asbestos are expected, placing greater emphasis on the building owners as opposed to the occupiers. Revision of Control of Asbestos at  Work regulations, produced by Health & Safety Commission, is expected to become law later in 2002. These regulations will cover commercial premises, and common parts of multi-let domestic blocks, as domestic premises will be dealt with later. Regulations propose that those with obligations in relation to the maintenance or repair of a building will have additional duties regarding the maintenance or removal of asbestos
