Seeks to identify the main differences between the role played by construction professionals in dispute resolution. Describes the role of an expert in the process of expert determination, and then considers the role of expert witnesses in providing opinion evidence to help the tribunal reach its decision (whether by litigation or arbitration). Concludes that experts play an important part in the dispute resolution process and that when selecting and appointing an expert, parties should make sure they find someone with the relevant expertise and knowledge.
