The average farm land price per hectare fell from £7 695 to £6 415 (almost 17%) in the run up to 2003. The regions most affected were East Midlands and southeast England whilst Wales and southwest England prices picked up slightly after earlier falls. Bare land prices fell to £5738 per hectare from £6 40 4 in the previous quarter. 87% of chartered surveyors see the land market remaining static or prices dipping further.
