The effect of this statutory is to add new parts to the CPR, Parts 58 to 62. Parts 58 to 61 deal with proceedings in particular courts while Rule 61 governs arbitration claims. Part 62 is supplemented by the new Practice Direction, PD 62. Much of the effect of PD49G is re-enacted in the new provisions but with some important changes and much of the wording redrafted to make its meaning clearer.
