These Regulations may be cited as the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and come into force on 6th April 2015. The 2015 Regulations are intended to protect persons from health and safety risks arising from construction work through the establishment of a systematic framework for management of those risks. The instrument revokes and replaces the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007. The 2015 Regulations are shorter and more linear in structure than the 2007 Regulations and aim to facilitate better understanding by the small businesses which predominate in the construction industry. The 2015 Regulations also provide for a more streamlined and less bureaucratic approach to co-ordination of health and safety information during construction projects.
