The RICS Review of European housing markets 2001 has been published. This provides a detailed evaluation and analysis of the European Union (EU) housing and finance systems. It also includes a special report on the growth of home ownership, and the role of the rental housing market. It provides country specific reports for most of the EU countries. The key finding was that the general slowdown in the European economy in 2000 resulted in a reduced pace of growth in the European housing market, in contrast with 1998 and 1999.
