Five years on from the first Generationl Rent survey records the findings of research undertaken by the Halifax into the market sentiment of the 25-40 age group towards home ownership and the affordability issues concerning purchase of property. Whilst schemes such as Help to Buy have helped many first time buyers the number of people in their 20s and 30s who are saving for a first dposit has dropped by 6% with many seeing themselves as long term renters rather than first time buyers.
